Art Star Phila!

Today is the opening reception for Jen Corace's show at Art Star gallery in Philadelphia! She is one of my all time favorite illustrators (I first found her through the children's book Little Pea) and I would absolutely love love love to meet her. Unfortunately, I am unable to make it this evening... but... my friend Manda and I are going next Sunday to see the gallery which is still amazing since we've been dying to go for years (ok just 2 years... but still!) I can not wait!

Birds have a natural instinct to fly... of course only after a few flight lessons!! 

I absolutely love love love drawing birds! Within the first couple pages of my brand new sketchbook I have an entire page filled with quirky birds- I'll have to post a few of my favorites

The first entry for my bran-spanking-new blog is for illustration friday! The word of the week is celebrate, and what better way to celebrate than with a pile of cats (and an itty-bitty mouse) with party hats?!
